So I ran into an interesting issue today at a client site. If you ever go into Central Administration on SharePoint 2007 and realize you can’t change Web Application pool drop downs, or you can’t start a service. It’s a good bet that Internet Explorer enhanced security configuration is enabled on the browser.

You can either disable it in the browser of if it suites your needs you can disable it all together. Here’s how.

Control panel

Add remove window programs

Window components

Internet Explorer enhanced security configuration (uncheck)

Hope that helps short, sweet and to the point.
