The old one i think is going to get retired into a server. She's a P4, 3.2 Ghz Hyper Threaded, Asus northbridge, 4 gigs of ram, 360 gigs of space, Water cooled, 2 DVD burners.

Here's the new one's parts so far.

• Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor Model BX80562Q6600 - Retail

• Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU ATX 12V 2.0 500W Power Supply - Retail

• ASUS P5B LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

• Kingston 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model

• Kingston 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model (yes a total of 8)

• XFX PVT84JUDD3 GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

So all I have left to get is probably a decent 500 gig drive. I already have a 320 so i cant see needing more space that that at least for now. I have to get 2 more water cooling blocks for the north and south bridge. And a case. I'll keep you guys in the loop.

Update: Ok so I purchased the last of my parts. I picked up:

• KOOLANCE CHC-120-V06 Motherboard Cooling block [6mm, 1/4"] - Retail
• LITE-ON Black IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DH-16D2P-04 - OEM (i need one for the media server, im taking the two burners from my current machine
• APEVIA X-CRUISER-BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail It had a spare 500watt PSU i might need
• and two Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM Combined with the other 500 gig in my current machine thats 1.5 terrabytes

I got all the parts in except the case, which comes tomorrow. I couldn't wait, I already extended the plumbing lines to the northbridge water block and installed the cpu.

Here is all the glory (except the case), I'll have some finished shots and some specs after the build.

Summary:

2.4 ghz QUAD core P4

1 terrabyte of combined storage

8 gigs of ram (if i go 64 big i can use it all)

Nvidia 8600gt (slightly smaller than the new stuff out but i dont need that much)

Transplant my two light-on DVD-r's (16x)

New case (eh)

Thermaltake 500 w PSU

Koolance Exos water cool system:

CPU Block, GPU Block, Northbridge Block, 1 Hard Drive Block
